It's a Tie

Just noticed we have a tie between David Bowie and New Order. You have until May 31st to make your vote. If the tie isn't broken, I will make the final decision. So vote, vote, vote. *lol*

Ludo: Poetry and Thrash

The Ludo show completely rocked and all the guys are cool! I was expecting something pretty big and they really delivered. They made the coolest announcement: The band said this was their first chance to see Tempe/Phoenix and because they really liked the weather, the people and the landscape they are going to add a tour date to come back this summer. How cool is that?

A Few Things

Okay, I have a few things to mention. First, in my personal life, I was told I'm now a member of the board of directors to a local health food coop. It's something I wanted, and I know I will do a good job with it. Another personal thing, a family friend of mine is getting a Tony Award. The theater company he works for is getting it for Best Regional Theater. The theater is The Chicago Shakespeare Theater and they do really cool plays.
on the music world, I'm planning on going to see Peter Murpshy on June 22nd. If the show isn't sold out by next week, I'm going to get tickets to it. Peter Murpshy totally rocks and I've been a fan of his for years. :)
I've been listening to the new Flight of the Conchords CD (which I won) and OMG it is ONE of the funniest things I've heard. My favorite track has to be "Bowie."
Speaking of Bowie, the poll for Artist of the Month seems to be tied. Right now, David Bowie & New Order are tied. If the tie isn't broken by the end of the month, I will pick who will win between the two.
Soon, I will announce who will be playing the local free concert series here called Thursday in the Square. They should be announcing the line up soon.

Party On!

Hey Aldo’s! Hope everyone is having a great week! I will not be joining you this Saturday night :’( I have to go to a party that I am not excited for, but if I don’t go then I won’t be able to go to the Diamondbacks game on Sunday and that IS something I’m excited about. I know you will all have a great time and I will be thinking about you. I’ll bring my laptop and see if they will let me stream the show (probably not, but I'll give it the old college try.) Otherwise feel free to call or text me (I’ll post my number on the comments page.)
Have fun!

"You're awful, I love you!"

So when I was at the MGMT show last month they announced a lot of upcoming shows and Ludo was one of them. I asked my date and he said he didn’t like them. I only knew their one big song and I wasn’t in love with it so I just dismissed it.
I caught that song on the radio again last week and it wasn’t bad. So yesterday (Tues) I thought to myself “well the show is on Thursday, if I’m going to give them a chance it has to be now” and I set out to give them a serious listen. You can probably guess…these guys are amazing! They have an ep called “The Broken Bride” which tells the story of a guy whose wife is killed in a car accident and he builds a time machine to go back and save her but ends up in a war trying to save a village from dragons…the whole thing is crazy and I admit to tearing up at the end. I put the whole set on the blog. If you have a ½ hour, listen straight through 1-4. I also put up some of their regular songs which I really like and “Hum Along” was an instant favorite. So Thursday night I’ll be at the Ludo show, celebrating a band so rockin’ they named themselves after the big sweet monster from Labyrinth.

Great DJ

I sign on to this blog from work so I can listen to the playlist. I absolutely love it, it is really awesome. Listening to it makes you think though...it all sounds better when you add that Ghosty element!

THE TING TINGS LYRICS - GREAT DJ

Fed up with your indigestion.
Swallow words one by one.
Your folks got high a quarter to five.
Don’t you feel your growing up undone.

Nothing but the local DJ.
He said he had some songs to play.
What went down from this fooling around.
Gave hope and a brand new day.

Imagine all the girls,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the boys,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the strings,
Eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee.
And the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums.

Oh
Nothing was the same again.
All about where and when.
Blowing our minds in our lives unkind.
Gotta love the bpl.
When the smoke was all baton
Remember how this all begun.
We wore his love like a hand in a glove.
Where the future plays it all night long.

Imagine all the girls,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the boys,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the strings,
Eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee.
And the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums

Making all the girls.
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the boys,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the strings,
Eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee.
And the drums,
Ah ah ah ah, ah, ah, ah, oh.

All the girls
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the boys,
Ah ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
And the strings,
Eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee, eee.

And the drums, the drums, the drums, the drums
